Gio spoke to the media after the game 7 loss by the Leafs.

Everyone knows I'm from Toronto, I've loved my time here," he said. "I will talk to my agent in the next week, it's still pretty fresh (the loss), and go from there. It's not a secret I enjoyed my time here. Being able to put the jersey on and feel that atmosphere in the rink, having the support of family and friends around the city has been great. I had a great time with it for sure."

Of course, at 38 years of age, Giordano isn't getting any younger. However, he feels that he can still be useful to the team - and that comes with a set of his own standards for himself.

"I just, honestly at this point in my career, it's about being on a team I believe can win and getting to the next level," he said. "That's what it's about for me."

"I feel like I can still contribute and help push the needle forward. I always aid the moment I don't feel like I'm contributing in a positive way, I won't keep going. I feel like I'm a guy who can help young guys along the way. I felt good, I'll keep training and hopefully keep going here for a few more years."

The Stanley Cup Playoffs continue later this week with Giordano's former Flames.

I"ll be watching for sure, but right now it's tough to watch hockey now for the first few days or weeks, whatever it is," he said. "You think about every play, you go back in your mind and wonder what you could have done differently as a team. I'll probably get away from it for a little bit here."

It stings, it was a close series. At the end of the day, we didn't get the job done. It stings for sure."
